Ralph M. Horton's Obituary
Ralph M. Horton Jr., 83, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026. He was born on June 8, 1942, to Ralph M. Horton and Mary Brown Moore.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Horton.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Rebecca Horton of Longview, Texas; his daughters and their spouses, Tami and Shane Reddin of Camden, Arkansas, Lynn and Michael Bearden of Longview, Texas, and Constance and Charles Barnes of Camden, Arkansas. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Margo and Phillip Bowley of Belton, Texas; one niece; two nephews; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Ralph retired from the State of Texas, where he served as Printshop Director. He was a proud Vietnam War veteran and a faithful member of Alpine Church of Christ in Longview. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — metal detecting, collecting coins, reading, walking his dogs and visiting with neighbors in the Millrun neighborhood. More than anything, Ralph loved spending time with family and friends. Known for his servant’s heart, Ralph was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He was deeply patriotic, firmly believed in the importance of voting, and faithfully prayed for anyone who shared a burden or concern with him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Ralph was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
