Funeral services for Radford ?Buddy? Poynter, 85, of Longview, will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, September 27, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Phil Jones officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Thursday, September 25, in a Longview hospital.
Mr. Poynter was born May 9, 1918 in Smith County, Texas to Fred and Faye Poynter. He was retired from Safeway Foods, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Longview. Also, he was a veteran of the United States Army.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Judy of Longview; son, Robert Poynter of Ft. Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Dean Allen of Garland; sisters and brother-in-law, Zollie and L.W. House of Harlingen, Texas, Norma Cagle of Austin, and Juanita Henson of Dallas; brothers, Bobby Poynter of Billings, Montana, Ray Poynter of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Grady Poynter of Lindale/Hide-A-Way Lake; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
