R. Dale Cox's Obituary
Dale left this earthly home to be with his Lord on January 28, 2015.He was born in Homer Louisiana, Claiborne Parish on July 8, 1935, to a loving mother Daisy Anglin Cox and father, Roy Cox.
Dale was active in his high school at Homer. He served as class president, played on the Pelican football team and was in the marching band. He was also a graduate of Louisiana Tech
University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He worked for several oil and gas companies in TX & OK. He retired from Texas Eastman with 33 years of service before retiring. After
retirement, he served as Manager for S&B Engineering for
seven years. He was an active member of The First Christian Church in Longview for. He served on many commitees, was Finance Committee Chairman, was an Elder of the church. He sang in the church choir. Dale was raised by his Dad to love the
outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunted when he could.
Dale was a proud Marine. He received many commendations during this tenure. He was the Platoon Honorman, Series Honorman and received the Blues Award. He was also the
Platoon Marksman and was a candidate for Officers Candidate School.
Left to cherish Dale’s memory is his wife of 57 years, Stella Jo Cox, Grandson, Hunter Carroll. Brother & sister-in law, Louis & Vonda Bothe and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Special to his heart were his two little dogs, Rusty
(the Dachshund) and Teddy, (the Corgy Mix) who he lovingly called Theodore, and his many friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Roy Cox; mother,
Daisy Cox; brother, Donald Cox; son, Darren Dale Cox; father-in-law, Lewis Long; and mother-in-law Pauline Vivian Long.
