R.A. ?Cotton? McLeroy
Funeral services for R.A. ?Cotton? McLeroy, a lifetime resident of Longview, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road, with the Reverend David Lindwall officiating. Burial will follow in Winterfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Monday, November 22, 2004 at the funeral home.
Mr. McLeroy was born on September 12, 1928 in Longview to Aaron and Minnie McLeroy. He passed away on Friday morning, November 19, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. McLeroy retired from Southwestern Bell, was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the Sharon Temple Mounted Patrol, and a member of Winterfield United Methodist Church.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Mr. McLeroy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Clara McLeroy of Longview; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard C. and Patricia McLeroy of Longview, Randall G. McLeroy of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Rodger Bechtold of Longview; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; stepchildren, Carol Nelson and her husband Harry Glenn of Springhill, LA., Curtis Ham and Carey Ham, both of Austin, Clay Graves and his wife Jami of Gilmer; six step grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Annette Searcy of Longview, Nell and Bill Crout of Longview, Ann Dunford of Longview; close friends, Tom Welch, Jerry Woods, and Richard Crawford, as well as numerous nieces nephews and friends.
