Phillip Wayne Binford was born on August 21, 1950 in Longview, Texas where he lived most of his life. After graduating from Longview High School in 1968, he obtained a cosmetology degree and worked for a time in Hollywood as a hairstylist for movies like True Confessions, starring Robert DeNiro. Phillip was always an artist at heart and, along with his lifelong career as a hairstylist in such salons as Neiman Marcus in Dallas and Talk of the Town in Longview, he also was an award-winning artist, specializing in watercolor and mixed media.
Phillip was preceded in death by his father Robert O'Neil Binford, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Daisy L. Binford and his aunt Elizabeth Leith, with whom he resided during the last several years. Phillip is also survived by his older brothers, Neil Binford of Longview and Joey Binford of Savoy, TX, and his younger sister Janet Hedrick of Longview, as well as his aunts, Ethelene Leith, Hazel Wood, and Joann Salter. Phillip is also beloved by his 6 nieces, 2 nephews, many dear cousins, as well as longtime friend Ann Marie Williams and his devoted friends from Talk of the Town. Phillip was a sensitive man of deep feelings, and we will deeply miss his humor and his unswerving love and devotion.
