Having only met Phillip in the last 18 months or so, I found a fast friend and dedicated servant of God. Phil and I shared a burden of both having said goodbye to our beloved and beautiful wives, much too soon. He preceded me by about 5 years or so in Pat's departure, thus his grief walk contained experiences and wisdom he willingly and graciously shared with me, giving me encouragement through our mutual faith in God and an eternal future. His love for Pat was deep and his mission to share his heart in Christ's love was unquestionable. I don't recall becoming as close a trusted friend in such a short time with anyone quite so thorougly throughout my life. He was to me a gift of strength, courage, understanding and compassion, as well as an example of the power of walking with God. My friend, I will miss you and your strong shoulders and guiding wisdom, but I know that you are overcome with joy at your new surroundings, and of course, being with both our Savior and your precious Pat once again. Given the time and opportunity, I hope to pass along the gifts you gave me to others who may struggle with the pain of grief and the loss of a covenant partner. We were both lucky to have tremendous women in our lives. I'm jealous that you are reunited with yours, while I wait on this mortal soil until my time comes. Thank you Phillip "P"... for everything. -- Bob Gambill
