Per Theodorsen
Per Theodorsen, 84, of Gilmer, Texas, passed away April 15, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 30, 1932 in Engelsviken, Norway, Per had a successful career of 50 years as a diesel engineer in the merchant marines, traveling all over the world. He and his wife immigrated to the United States in 1960 and became US citizens in early 1970s. They settled in California for many years before moving to Texas in 1983, where they lived in Huntsville, Kingwood, Longview and Gilmer.
He was a funny, kind-hearted and generous man who loved deeply and loved to serve others, especially his wife.
He is survived by his spouse of almost 60 years, Esther, and their three children: daughter Hilde Sladich and her husband Nicholas, of Garden Grove CA; son Per K. Theodorsen and his wife Kimberly, of Huntsville, TX; and daughter Kristin Poss and her husband Allen, of Longview, TX. Per is also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan Sladich and his wife Jenny, Travis Sladich, Erik Theodorsen, Evan Theodorsen, Chris Hoot and his wife Angel, Caleb Hoot, Natalie Poss and Danielle Poss. He also has one great grandchild, Katherine Rose Sladich.
Private family services will be held Sunday morning. Friends are welcome to celebrate Per’s life with the family at an open house starting at 2 pm. Please contact family for further details and location.
