Mrs Penny Lee Reeves' Obituary
A celebration of life will be held for Penney Chappell Reeves on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Longview. Penney was born on January 25, 1968 in Odessa Texas. She will be remembered for her big, beautiful smile, fortitude and tendency to put others before herself. She departed this life and was healed from the cancer she valiantly battled for 13 months on Thursday, June 26.
Penney graduated from White Oak High School, Kilgore College and the University of Texas at Tyler. She married the love of her life Doyle “Bubba” Reeves and had two amazing children Gunnar and Reagan. Their family enjoyed many camping trips and NASCAR races together. The family treasures special memories of trips to Yellowstone National Park and the Great Smoky Mountains.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband Doyle, son Gunnar, daughter Reagan, parents Willard and Cynthia Chappell, sister Paula Poole and husband Dale, niece Hannah Poole, father in law Jerry Reeves, sister in law Debbie Blalock and husband James Strum, niece Nikki Moon and husband Cody and their children Avery and Kamden, special Aunts and Uncles Jeanette and Nasser Eydani and Delbert and Loretta Chappell, as well as many additional aunts, uncles and cousins. She is now in her heavenly home where she joins mother in law Ann Reeves, niece McKinsey Blalock, special cousin Holly Manna and her grandparents. The family gratefully acknowledges the assistance of special friends Jeff and Karyn Jones during Penney’s illness and beyond.
Penney worked as a legal assistant and accountant for Patton, Nix and Young Law Firm for 23 years. The family is very appreciative of the care and support her co-workers provided during the last year. She formed a special bond while working with Joe Young and he and his wife Roberta became family. She was also active at White Oak Schools where she had served as Secretary of the Education Foundation and President of the PTO. She was very generous with her time and efforts on behalf of the students and faculty of WOISD. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
The family is grateful for the care provided by Doctors Udit Verma of U T Southwestern in Dallas, Sylvia Kariampuzha of Tyler and Kavita Nirmal of Longview and for the services of Heart to Heart Hospice. Memorials may be made to the Penney Reeves Benefit Account at any Texas Bank & Trust location or Calvary Baptist Church.
