Funeral services for Ms. Peggy will be Wednesday, November 24 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, with a vistion taking place 1 hour prior to the service. The graveside will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Minden, TX.
Peggy was born on October 22, 1949 at home in Minden, Texas, the fourth of five children. She attended school in Minden and graduated from Henderson. She married David Dorsey in 1965. Together they had three children, Leona, David and Bryan, and then adopted Tiffany. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew matching outfits for herself and her girls. Later she started a career in construction until she had a tragic vehicle accident at the age of 26. Although the accident left her unable to work, she taught us all how to be happy and love life in even the worst of circumstances. She was always smiling and loved to tease anyone around her. She was a blessing to everyone around her including her children, her siblings and the many friends she made living at Songbird Assisted Living and Autumn Leaves nursing home.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Robert Armstrong and Dorothy Armstrong and her stepfather Vasilije “Stash” Starcev and one grandchild Brandon Bynum.
She is survived by her children Leona Dorsey Tripp and husband Tom of New London, David Lee Dorsey and Charlotte of Gilmer, Bryan Scott Dorsey and wife Teresa of New London, and Tiffany Ann Richards and husband Harold of Whitesburg, Georgia, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, and their spouses, Linda Miller (Jerry), Marie “Waco” Howell (Joe), Robert Armstrong, and William Armstrong.
