Pearl Koreen Price
Koreen Price, 66, passed away in a Houston hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born October 9, 1937, in Coffeyville, Kansas., to Ethel and Kenneth Pfhol. She attended Coffeyvile Junior College, where she earned an associate's degree in business. She moved to Houston where she met John F. Price. They were married June 26, 1959. She worked as a secretary, but her true vocation was being a devoted mother to her children.
She dedicated her life to service, always willing to give of herself and help others in need. A member of Fellowship Bible church, she was a committed Christian. She was a loving "nana", extremely active and invovled in the lives of her seven grandchildren. Koreen was a loving sister, aunt and friend to many. She loved people and lived her life with joy.
With grace and diginty, Koreen fought a difficult battle with an auto-immune liver disease. She was waiting for a liver transplant at the time of her death. Memorials may be made to Texas Bank and Trust, c/o David Wilson, Longview. The fund will be dedicated to an organ transplant awareness program through Life Gift.
Mourning her loss and celebrating her life are her husband of 45 years, John Price; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia and David Fonteno of Nacogdoches; her sons, Tom and Tim Price both of Longview; her grandchildren, Emily, Amy and Aaron Wilson, Ashtyn and Cole Price, Sara Price, and David Fonteno, her sisters, Elizabeth Brausell of Bixby, Okla., Doreen Orr of Tulsa, Okla., Patty Jackson of New Caney and Vicki Baird of Cypress; a brother, Hank Pfhol of Bixby, Okla.; former in-laws, Tony Wilson, Niki Hunt, and Carrie Hutcheson; and a host of beloved, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death her mother Ethel Pfhol; her father, Kenneth Pfhol, one brother, Martin Pfhol and an infant sister.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 12, in Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Road with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, June 11, 2004.
