I remember a sleep-over birthday party for Karen. I believe it was in August, just before we started back to school at Mozelle Johnston or Judson. Mrs. Richardson took wonderful care of a house full of giggling, squealing girls. We had eaten well, stayed up late, and of course told ghost stories before Mrs. Richardson told us it was time to go to sleep, which being good kids, we tried to do. As we were all drifting off, we hear a growling type of strange noise. We all jump up to find out what this strange and awful noise was.......was it a bear or a monster trying to get us???? More giggling. Mr. & Mrs. Richardson come in to see what the commotion was all about. It turned out to be Shorty (?), the Pekingese snoring loudly under the tv set, sound asleep, and unseen by the girls. He was exhausted from entertaining all of us girls.
Your sweet mom was a lovely lady, and I know she will be greatly missed.
With Love, Prayers of comfort and happy memories for each of you,
Debra Collier-Kerstetter
