Pauline Beasley Barkman's Obituary
Services for Pauline Beasley Barkman , 99, of Longview will be noon Saturday, April 17th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3 PM in Hillcrest Memorial Park at Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Barkman died Thursday morning at a Longview nursing center.
Pauline was born September 6, 1904 at Waldo, Arkansas. She graduated from Magnolia, Arkansas High School and then attended the Texarkana Hospital School of Nursing where, on June 22, 1927, she became a registered nurse.
Pauline moved to Longview from Texarkana, Texas in 1986. A longtime member of the Walnut St. Church of Christ in Texarkana, she became a member of the Alpine Church of Christ upon coming to Longview.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Barkman in 1973 and a son, Byron Barkman in 1995. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and LaGrace Barkman of Longview; seven grandchildren: Diane Barkman Thompson of Ft. Worth, Russell Barkman of Wilmington, North Carolina, Roger Barkman of Longview, Tonya Barkman Salmon of Birmingham, Alabama, Angella Barkman, Michelle Barkman Harris, and Amanda Barkman Smith all of Shreveport, Louisiana; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Clairmont for all their kindness and support during Pauline?s illness.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening 6 to 7:30 PM.
