Paul W. Franklin's Obituary
Longview – Services for Paul Wayne Franklin, of Hallsville, will be Monday January 13, 2020 at 10:00 am in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Scott Schulik officiating. Burial will follow in the Mulhearn Park Cemetery in Monroe, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Paul was born October 24, 1953 in Delhi, Louisiana to Virgil and Agnes Franklin. He went home to be with the his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 7, 2020, dying at home to enter into his new heavenly home.
Paul was a graduate of Delhi High School, lettering in track. Paul then graduated from Louisiana Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Master’s in Business Administration from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he graduated with honors. He completed the Executive Development Program at Louisiana State University.
Paul was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview. He enjoyed doing woodworking, refurbishing cars and flying remote controlled airplanes.
Paul joined SWEPCO in 1975 and held several positions including:
Maintenance Superintendent at Pirkey Power Plant, Hallsville, Texas
Manager for Plant Support SWEPCO
Plant Manager Welsh Power Plant Cason, Texas
Vice President of Generation for SWEPCO
Managing Director of Special Projects for American Electric Power
He spent forty-four years in the power industry.
Paul is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart Melba Nappier Franklin; brother, Ron Franklin and his wife, Terry of Longview; niece, Nicole and husband Kenny Hines and great niece, Alexandria Hines all of Longview. Also, Paul is survived by his sister- in -law, Ellen Nappier Evans of West Monroe, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Agnes Franklin and his in-laws, John Allen and Alneda Nappier and many beloved aunts and uncles.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mobberly Baptist Church, Longview, Texas.
