Paul Edward Williams' Obituary
Services for Paul Edward Williams, 72, of Longview, will be held at
12 Noon Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Roberson and Reverend James A. Kirkland officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Minden, TX.
Mr. Williams was born August 15, 1931 in Rusk County, Texas. He passed away from this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2004.
Mr. Williams graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. While there he served as president of the Accounting Club which he was instrumental in forming, and was listed in ?Who?s Who in American Colleges?.
Upon graduation from Stephen F. Austin, Mr. Williams was employed by Price Waterhouse Accounting Firm, during which time he received certification as a Certified Public Accountant. He was later employed as CFO for Standard Southern Corporation of Houston, Texas.
In 1971 he moved to Longview where he joined his brother in real estate development.
Mr. Williams felt that his greatest contribution in this life was in service to his Lord and Saviour. As a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church, he was involved in the choir, taught a men?s Sunday School class, and served as an active deacon.
Mourning his death is his devoted wife of fifty years, Freda; brothers, Zack Williams of Longview, Harris P. Williams of Clay Center, Kansas; sisters, Ita Akins and Evangeline Sledge of Henderson, Lula Kate Bohrer of Berkely Springs, W. Virginia, and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Rader Funeral Home.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to The Williams Foundation, a religious and educational non-profit organization; 923 W. Loop 281, Longview, Texas 75604, or to a charity of choice.
