Paul D. Blackwell was born December 16, 1920, in the Concord Community in Wood County, Texas, to James Oscar and Martha Jane Vaughn Blackwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Delilah Anders Blackwell; sisters Lois Chrietzburg, Jean Derr, Iris Goolsby, and Clarice Blackwell, and brothers Bill, Travis and Edgar.
Left to cherish his memory are his twin daughters Paula Risinger and husband Charles of Gilmer, and Pat Hunt of Gilmer and her husband Harry of Longview. Grandchildren are Doug Hunt and wife Chanthy of Longview, Amy Hunt Cunha and husband Russell of Carthage, Lori Risinger Heinrich and husband Karl of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Marci Risinger and husband Greg of Snoqualmie, Washington. Great Grandchildren are Dawson and Landrie Cunha; Sandra Eubanks Laminack and husband Dylan of Haughton, Louisiana; Simon Eubanks of Dallas; Eli Eubanks of Dallas; Emma Eubanks of Snoqualmie Washington; Matt Demond, Charlie and Garin Heinrich of Mt. Pleasant; and great-great-granddaughter Pressley Laminack of Haughton, Louisiana.
Paul spent his career with United Gas Corp. specializing in sales, installation, and maintenance of gas air conditioners. He was a very talented man who could fix anything. Fishing was his favorite pastime, and he enjoyed nothing more than sitting in a boat on an east Texas lake reeling in the fish.
The family wishes to thank all who have prayed for Paul and have supported our family through his ill health. We especially want to thank Carl and Daisy Cox of Big Sandy for their excellent and devoted care of Daddy for the last 8 months, as well as the staff of Care Team Hospice. And, of course we praise God for His sustaining grace, strength, and comfort through it all.
Those wishing to give a memorial may do so to WACAP, PO Box 88948, Seattle, WA 98138
