Pattie L. Hodges
Funeral services for Pattie L. Hodges, 75, of Longview, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview with the Reverends Tom Roberson and Dave Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Park. She passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 in a Longview hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodges was born February 23, 1932 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Paul and Juanita Bizzell and a longtime resident of Longview. She was raised in Kilgore, and was a 1951 graduate of Kilgore High School where she was a Majorette in the high school band. She attended Kilgore College and was a Kilgore Rangerette. She was a former resident of Dallas and Midland. In Midland, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and founded the ?I Can Cope Society? and later was associated with the society in Longview. She volunteered for the Good Shepherd Medical Center Auxiliary. When her children were young, she was involved in numerous activities with them. She was former president of the PTA, a homeroom mother, and a Cub Scout Leader. Mrs. Hodges was a very active member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church and had been a Sunday School Teacher and served on various committees. Pattie touched the hearts of all who knew her. She is loved and will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Bobby Hodges of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Connie Hodges of Lone Star, Mark and Sharla Hodges of Longview, Kelly and Brenda Hodges of Houston; grandchildren, Matt Hodges, T. C. Hodges, Heather Reyes, Koen Black, Markus Hodges, Carley Hodges, Jennifer Hodges, Michelle Hodges and Danielle Hodges; 5 great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Janet Bizzell of Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Marada and Bill Early of Kilgore; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sherri and Jim Glover of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.
