Patti Arnold Weaver
Funeral services for Patti Arnold Weaver, 69, of Longview will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Longview with the Reverend David English officiating. Entombment will be held at 10:45 AM in Rosewood Park Mausoleum under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Born December 4, 1941, Patti entered eternal rest wither Savior on May 17, 2001.
Patti lived with her precious grandmother, Sattie Pliler in Longview from 1957 until her marriage to Jim Weaver in 1963. Her earlier years were spent living in South America with her beloved parents, Royce and Evelyn Arnold and brother Larry.
Schooling dictated she complete her formal education back in the USA. Patti graduated from Longview High School, attended Kilgore College, Same Houston State and Stephen F. Austin.
After marrying the ?finest man she ever knew,? they traveled and worked in South America and other locations before moving back to Longview. Patti owned and operated East Texas Appraisal Service for seventeen years. Patti?s greatest personal achievement was her work in the service to her Lord.
After retirement, she and Jim moved to Sun City West, AZ, where they were involved in the start up of Grace community Church. Patti was on the governing board of the church for three years, and taught community bible study for eight years. After moving back to Longview, they joined first Baptist Church and Patti was the Prayer ministry chairman until illness forced her to step down.
She was preceded in death by her father, Royce Arnold and mother Evelyn Arnold.
She is survived by her husband Jim; sons, Scott and Wade; brother, Larry Arnold; brother-in-law, Tommy Weaver; sister-in-law, Mary Lipscomb; aunts, Dorothy Pliler and Suzanne Hennon; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made in Patti?s name to the First Baptist Church 209 E. South St., Longview, TX 75601 or Grace Community Church of Surprise, AZ, 16165 West Mountain View Blvd., Surprise, AZ 85374.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice at Margaret?s House and the Longview Cancer Center, as well as Dr. Tom Chow, Dr. Pula Paki and Dr. Frank Jackson for their commitment and service during this trying time.
