Patricia Miller Witt
LONGVIEW ? Patricia M. Witt, 63, of Longview, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior April 30, 2011 at Beacon Hospice at Margaret?s House following a short illness. She was born May 7, 1947 in Longview to Helen and J. C. Miller. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Miss Pat as she was known to many was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother called Gee by her grandchildren, friend, and teacher. Pat attended Longview High School, Kilgore College, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. She taught at elementary schools in Duncanville, Texas, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Longview. For 31 years Pat was a pre-school and kindergarten teacher at Oakland Heights Child Development Center. Pat loved to crochet, travel, camp, visit Colorado, and take boat rides on Lake Cherokee, but most of all spending time with friends, family and her precious grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, J. C. Miller, and father-in-law, Albert Witt. She is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, David Witt of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, David Witt II and Tracy, Mark Witt and Jaime, all of Longview; grandchildren Taylor Lee, Allyson McKenzie, Elizabeth Grace, and Lincoln Ace, all of Longview; mother Helen Miller of Longview; brother and wife Allen Miller and Delilah of Humble; mother-in-law Ida Witt of Longview; sister-in-law and husband Janet and Dean Beal of Miami, Florida; brother-in-law and wife Alice and James Witt of Burnsville, North Carolina; sister-in-law and husband Betty and Ken Colborn of Sun City, Arizona; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Celebration of life service led by Pastor Jim Johnson will be Tuesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church in Longview. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park in Longview. Visitation will be Monday, May 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
