Patricia Ann Smith's Obituary
Patricia Ann Gregory Smith, age 72 of Longview, was called into the presence of our Lord and Savior, May 31, 2018. She was born June 22, 1946 in Marshall, Texas. She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur Lee and Bonnie Patterson Gregory.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Longview and attended Pine Tree ISD. She was a graduate of the 1964 class. She married the love of her life, Phillip Paul Smith, September 18, 1965, at Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church. Pat and her husband have been members of Grace Bible Church in White Oak for 41 years.
An adored wife, loving mother, and amazing homemaker, Pat was a woman who believed intensely in the importance of a safe, secure, and healthy environment for her family. She worked tirelessly to provide this as she raised her children in a home that always had the aroma of something being freshly made. Pat was an incredible cook and enjoyed making meals for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. She loved to collect cookbooks and attend cooking classes with her sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith. Pat was also a devoted grandmother who loved her grandchildren deeply. She loved picking them up from school and attending their many school events as well as just enjoying their company. She always gave of her time and her heart. She leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ and a fierce, deep love … and her family loves her back just as fiercely and deeply!
Pat is survived by her husband, Phillip Paul Smith; a sister, Kathy Gregory Bewley and husband Mike of College Station; a son, Michael Smith and wife Suzanne; two daughters, Paula BonDurant and husband Todd; Teresa Owen and husband Bryan; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren all of Longview.
A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church, 5041 Estes Parkway, Longview, Texas 75603. Visitation with the family is scheduled for 1:00 PM followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview.
