Patricia Ann Brown's Obituary
Patricia Ann Lockhart Brown, born to Joe and Jeannette Lockhart on February 26, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas went home to her Lord and Savior September 12,2022.
Patricia was a warrior! She had BIG faith never giving in or giving up. She always believed God would heal her and if he doesn’t, "I still win" (her words) because I get to live with him forever. Patricia loved our family, all of us, blood or chosen. She had a fierce unconditional love for her Grands, they were her favorites! She often told me "I can't bear to leave them" Brett, Danielle, Patrick, Jessica, Brooklynn, Karah all held in her heart till the day she went home to Jesus. She was so proud of Patrick and all his accomplishments in his life He is thriving! She's so proud of you all! She often told me that her grandchildren were God's blessings to her every day of her life.
She had humble beginnings as a little girl being born in Port Arthur, Texas. At the age of 10 moved to Longview Texas in 1953, she also had her own challenges in her young life. Patricia suffered with a rare bone disease suffering broken arms several times and was told that she would never have a normal life. She even witnessed to the nurses of John Sealy hospital at the age of 10 years old. She told me a story once, about how they had taken her into the chapel, they were showing her all of the saints. She told the sister "Jesus is not on that cross, he's alive in my heart" she witnessed to 100s of people over her entire life. She often told me stories about the nurses or people at Texas oncology that she came in contact with. She spoke about the Lord and all the things he's done for her throughout her life, how he protected her and carried her through. Patricia often prayed for people when she was in the doctor's appointments, knowing that they were hurting and needing a compassionate spirit. even people who were coming to the house to help her or to love on her or bring her flowers or just smile to say they loved her. She was still witnessing to them about God's love for them.
Patricia was smart, she wanted to learn new things, she loved making jewelry, crocheting purses, she spent a lot of time listening to Billy Graham and others as well and gospel music. Patricia loved the Lord, and she lived it. She always told everyone she could about his mercies on her life. My mother made mistakes she wasn't proud of, carried burdens for parts of her journey as any of us do, she always said, "I love you" and "I'm sorry" she was always first to offer help. In her later years, she was often unable to do much, but I think she did what she could.
My best memory was a trip taken in 2015 to Port Aransas, Texas where we had the best time a mother and daughter could have! I kind of fooled her about where we were going, because there was a bridge that we had to cross. (Mother hated bridges), when she saw it, she said "how are we getting across that"? I said we're going to drive right over the top!! I thought she would kill me!! What a great time we shared! I have so many good memories throughout my life of my mother, and I will cherish them the rest of my life.
She reminded me a lot of times, about how she had taken care of Brooklynn when she was a baby. She got to spend lots of time with her when she was little. When Karah came along, I noticed a real quick special bond, she always wanted to talk and sing or tell stories to the little ones. I believe her grandchildren and her great grandchildren will be loved throughout eternity, covered by her prayers over them as babies. All her prayers will last forever into eternity.
My mother knew heartache, she knew joy, she always persevered and tried to do her best, she loved without any regard whatsoever! I will miss my mother and happier times that we shared over her life, she will be greatly missed and forever loved by all of us.
She has ran her race and she is finished!
She is now at home with her Lord and Savior Jesus, she often said "he's not ready for me yet" today she's living her best eternal life. No pain, no tears, only joy and peace in the arms of Jesus. She never doubted even in the face of defeat, she was strong to the end, never questioning her father. Always faithful about what God would and could do, she often in her own struggles prayed for others she said that that was her purpose to give comfort when there was none. Often times, when she met someone on the street or at the Drs they always said, "there's something about you, there’s a light in you "
We see and feel Jesus on your face! I am certain when she crossed over, the Lord said, Well done my faithful servant! She is proceeded in death by parents Joe and Jeannette Lockhart, husband David Brown, grandchildren Brett and Danielle Crump.
Surviving family: Glenda Crump, daughter Longview Texas, Nancy Spurlock, daughter Alba Texas, Thomas Melvin Lockhart, brother Princeton Louisiana. Grand children Patrick Spurlock Gulfport Mississippi, Jessica Spurlock Alba Texas. Great granddaughter Brooklynn Crump Tyler Texas, Karah Crump Union Grove, Texas. Bonus Grands Elle, George, Beau and little Kristopher, numerous other nieces, nephews' family, and friends, also a little boy next door found his way into her heart the moment she laid eyes on him. Jaxson would often come and knock on her door to come give her a hug., these were all joyful times to her!
They are all her sweethearts, there's so many things about my mother I will miss, I just want to say Thank you and rest easy Mama for everything, we love you forever.
