Patricia Jean Binkley-Childress' Obituary
Patricia Jean Binkley-Childress, 63, died peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at her home in Longview, TX. Patricia was born to Margaret Jean and James Edward Baker in Clovis, New Mexico on September 24, 1959. Patricia was enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1987. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, was a certified personal trainer, author of a health and wellness book, owner of two fitness and wellness health businesses, and had a lifelong passion for fitness and health. She also assisted her husband, Dr. Carl Childress, with the operations of his optometry practice, helped lead a women’s prison ministry and was, most importantly, a dedicated and passionate leader of her family, a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by brother-in-law, David Sharp. She is survived by her: husband of 25 years, Dr. Carl W. Childress; her children, Amanda Udvarhelyi, Marynn (Jeff) Udvarhelyi, Austin (Jaimie) Binkley, Ragan Childress, and Mariah Childress; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Glen) Hicks, Kahlan Udvarhelyi, Hannah Udvarhelyi, Ashlyn Udvarhelyi, and Noelle Udvarhelyi; her great-grandchildren, River Brouwer and Scout Hicks; her siblings, Bill (Cheryl) Baker, Mick (Debbie) Baker, Jennifer Sharp, and Caryl (Scott) Helsel.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview and will be officiated by Hezekiah Kyles.
