Patricia Maxine Arnold's Obituary
Patricia Hudman Arnold (74) of Longview went to be with our Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born November 12, 1948 to Sellie M. Hudman and Mary Christene Owens Hudman. She was raised in Brachfield, Texas and attended school in Henderson. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Winona, Texas and loved online services when her health prevented her from attending in person.
Pat and her late husband, Billy Wayne Arnold, were inseparable. They lived, worked and played together and rarely did anything apart from one another. Together, they built two very successful businesses in Longview and spent every moment together until his death.
Pat enjoyed life to the fullest degree. She loved deeply, and she loved with her whole heart. Her smile and happy energy will live on in those who were blessed to have known her. One of her greatest pleasures was making sure that the brightest light would shine on those around her. Pat was everyone's champion, everyone's promotor, and she thoroughly enjoyed the successes of her family and friends. She especially loved music and dancing. Ever the socializer, Pat looked forward to meeting with her many friends at all the favorite senior citizen dance spots. She often said that music and dancing held a healing power for her like nothing else ever could.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Roscoe Hudman, and the love of her life, Billy Wayne Arnold. She is survived by her son Kenny Arnold (Rachel) and daughter Sharon Smelley (Andy); sisters Sylvia Haley (Wayne) and Christi Hays; brother-in-law Kenneth Arnold (Deb); grandsons Brett Arnold (Chassidy), Jake Smelley, Thomas Smelley (Laycee); and Cameron Hadsell; grandaughters Janna Smelley (Jeremy), Tennie Whyte (Wade), Leah Thomas, and Sara Thomas; great-grandchildren Emma Plunkett and Samson Whyte; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 12, 2023 5pm - 7pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Graveside service, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 12pm at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Rusk County with Bro. Max Burch officiating. Pall bearers are her grandsons Brett Arnold, Jake Smelley, Thomas Smelley, Jeremy Hart, Wade Whyte and nephews Keith Haley, Chris Hays, and Ben Hays. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided for the family in the Shiloh Church Fellowship Hall.
