Owen "Dub" Wright's Obituary
Owen “Dub” Wright went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 29, 2024, after a lengthy illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched throughout his very memorable life.
Dub was a strong, courageous husband, father and grandfather.
During his illness, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Dub was born on April 13, 1937, and entered heaven on March 29, 2024. He died on Good Friday. The same day Jesus, our Savior died.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Eathel Wright and a grandson, Brandon Young.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Alyene Wright, two sons, Owen Walter Wright (Lisa) and Kevin Dean Wright (Samantha), four grandsons, Brandon Wright, Collin Wright and Austin Young, one brother, Gary Wright, as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral is on Wednesday April 3 at 2 PM, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Visitation is at 1 PM preceding the funeral. Pall Bearers will be Ronnie Acree, Levi Jones, Joe Lane, Rusty Spence, Collin Wright, and Mike Ziegler. Honorary Pall bearers are Brandon Wright, Austin Young and Brandon Young.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the America Cancer Association.
