Ouida Harris Hayes' Obituary
Graveside services for Ouida Harris Hayes, 91, of Longview will be 2 PM Friday, March 13, 2009 at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Ms. Hayes passed away Tuesday evening in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Ouida was born on March 28, 1917 in Linden, Texas to Perry and Birdie Patman Lathem. She worked for many years as a clerk at McIntosh Drug Store. She was a long time and very devoted and dedicated member of Mobberly Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Louis A. Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry S. and Risa Harris; daughter-in-law, Patsy G. Harris; grandchildren, Miriam Jones, Melissa McDonald, Houston Harris, James Singleton, Jay Harris, Tibby Teykl, and Jim Harris; great-grandchildren, Alexis McDonald, Julia McDonald, Harris Jones, Houston Jones, Mary Aldon Harris, Austin Harris, Adam Harris, Allison Harris, Trevor Teykl, and Connor Teykl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Mobberly Baptist Church Building Fund.
