Graveside services for O. D. Sewell, 79, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Gregg Martin officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Saturday, October 6, at his residence in Longview.
Mr. Sewell was born April 29, 1928 in Pittsburg, Texas to Oscar Dickson and Opal Ruth Davis Sewell. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 38 years service and was former president of the Telecom Pioneers of Northeast Texas. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served in Korea. Mr. Sewell was a member of the Paris, Texas Masonic Lodge #27 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Temple in Dallas. He was an Amateur ?Ham? Radio Operator, and a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert David Sewell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 58 years, Martha Sewell of Longview; son Dennis Ray Sewell of Dallas; and grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Sewell and Ryan Austin Sewell also of Dallas.
