Oressa Jones' Obituary
"Ressa" Jones was born February 1, 1922 in Amarillo, TX. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior August 23, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Percy Jones and her daughter, Norma McKenzie, her parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one sister, Mildred Stevenson of Kingman, AZ.; sons and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Glynda Jones of Longview, Ken Jones of Kilgore; granddaughters Rhonda Peek, Tammie Mciver, Penny Jones, Donna Baggett; grandsons Randy Jones and Scotty Gill; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be at Memory Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
Oressa owned and operated Ressa's Beauty Salon on Judson Road for over 30 years before retiring. She and her family were members of Northside Baptist Church where she taught a girl's Sunday School Class for many years. She and her husband also worked with youth in Discipleship Training.
Oressa was a graduate of Pine Tree High School and a resident of Longview for most of her life including all of her adult life.
Oressa spent the last nine years at Songbird Assisted living where she made many friends with the residents as well as the superb staff. She was also assisted by the outstanding staff of LifeCare Hospice.
