Remembering Opal, your mother and grandmother.
Opal was a special lady in our church family. Some people brighten the world around them and make it better for all who have felt the sunshine. Your mother brighten lives year after year. Remembering her love of the Lord, her devotion and love to her family, her friends, others; her style, her smile, her face, her kindness, her strength, her words, and her gifts. Deepest Sympathy to each of you in your loss of your dear one. May God give you comfort and peace at this difficult time.

I am blessed to have had Opal in my life and wish I could have seen her more and stayed in better touch over the years.
Opal and Sammy took me into their extended family based on just a phone call from Rev. Rawlins and a brief meeting with my parents when I was dropped off at LeTourneau University to start college in 1995. The next four years I always had family because I always had Opal and Sammy. They got me to church, took me in for Thanksgiving and Easter and countless other meals and treated me like one of their own. Opal was one of the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet. She was always so positive, so encouraging and a great and patient listener. She was always an example of Christian love and faith. I was privileged to be there the Sunday she got re-baptized, showing how even someone of such strong faith can long to draw nearer to Jesus. Her calm demeanor and love for her family, the church and the community are an example I hope to live up to.
I have missed her so much over the years and wished I could bring my family to meet everyone while she was still with us. That chance is gone but it is so wonderful to know she is with Sammy and Estelle again and that we will see her again.
Debbie, Mark, Brian, Nicole, Courtney, and family, I am so sorry for your loss and so sorry I cannot get to Longview for her services. Steph and I grieve with you. You are in our family’s prayers.

We will be forever grateful for meeting Opal & Sammy trough the church. They extended Love & friendship to our family. Becoming Jason's Longview, Texas extended family, taking Jason to church and making him a part of their family. It comforted me knowing he had them there, leaving Jason so far away from home to attend LaTourneau University was hard. Opal was so sweet & thoughtful to us when we were there. So happy we were able to attend Sammy's services with Jason. Opal even had us over to her new home. God blessed us & Jason with her in our lives. Sending Love & Prayers. Susan & Mark Fowler
We were blessed to worship alongside sweet Opal in church! She radiated the love of Jesus to all and was especially sweet to our little ones. She would send me sweet emails of encouragement when we had good news to share, and she would pray for us often. I’d like to share this cake she brought to our monthly potluck lunch. 💛
