Opal Brister
Funeral services for Opal Brister, 91, of Longview will be held at Ten O?clock am Friday November 5, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Cantey officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Chapel Hill, Texas under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Brister passed away Monday November 1, 2004 in Longview.
She was born October 20 1913 in Electra, Texas and had lived in Longview the past 19 years, moving here from Henderson, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson and was employed as a Sales Lady at the Knox Furniture Store. She was a member of the Henderson Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was past Grand Worthy Matron, after moving to Longview she joined the Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Brister loved gardening and flowers and she loved life itself as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ken Barnett, Mark Barnett, Noah Jackson, Allen Roach, Chris Rundell and Glenn Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elton Brister and her daughter Eltonette Barnett.
She is survived by her three daughters, Shirley Wallace and her husband Bob of Longview, TX.; Linda Rundell and special friend Bob Troxclair of Houston, TX.; Jere Roach and her husband Jim of Longview, TX.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
