Memorial services for Opal A. Johnson Ard and Elvin S. Johnson both of Longview will be held at Eleven O'clock am Monday December 29, 2008 at Longview First Church with Reverend James Renfro, Jr. officiating.
Opal passed away Wednesday December 24, 2008 and Elvin passed away Tuesday December 23, 2008 in Longview.
Opal was born December 11, 1921 in Leesville, LA. to Sam and Eva Bradley Williams, Elvin was born January 23, 1917 in Oakdale, LA. to Scott and Cassie Johnson. Opal married Elvin Scottie Johnson and later they moved to Texas. They both enjoyed gardening and they would sell what they raised to in the Community. Elvin was an Ordained Pentecostal Minister. They had eight children.
Survivors include, their only daughter, Cassie Evans and husband Andy of Longview, five sons, Nobby Johnson of Needville, TX.; Edwin Johnson and wife Raynell, Jimmy Johnson and wife Kathy, Bruce Johnson and wife Lori, all of Richmond, TX.; Travis Johnson and wife Peggy of Jacksonville, Fla.; Nineteen Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Opal was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Huey P. Williams and one sister Lola Freeman.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
