Ollie Mae Beck
Funeral services for Ollie Mae Beck, 91, of Lubbock will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock. Burial will follow in the Lubbock City Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in Wolfforth, TX. Local arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beck was born March 23, 1917 in Lamesa, TX to Andrew and Mable Follis. On Sunday evening, October 5, "Mammaw" went to be with her Lord and her angel's, in order to be sure that home is ready for her family that follow. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock where she had lived for the past 48 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Z. Beck; brothers, Jake, Tommie, Joe and A. J. Follis; 5 step children; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwane and Teresa Beck of Longview, Ollie Beck and Thomas and Gloria Beck all of Houston, James and Barbara Beck of Amarillo , and Robert and Karen Sanders of Chicago, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Xan and Aubry Jones of Lubbock, Janice Sabin of Longview, Cora Gann of Ore City, Billie Figgins of Phoenix, AZ, Dorothy and Henry Bishop of Brownfield, TX, and Maxine Butler of White Settlement, TX; 35 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Follis of Colorado, Luther Follis of New Jersey, Sheridan Follis of Mesquite, and George Follis of Lubbock; and numerous other relatives and extended family.
