A Beloved Woman who loved the Lord
Olive Ruth Dorsey Bissell
She met with Jesus and arrived at her eternal home with Him on June 13, 2007.
Under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Rosewood Park, inside the air conditioned Mausoleum, located on FM 1844 in Longview, Texas. Dr. Rick Webb, Chaplain, Buckner Westminster Place, will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8 PM. Friday, June 15, 2007, Rader Funeral Home, located at 1617 Judson Rd., Longview
Olive was born on Nov. 25, 1919, and spent her early years in Bellevue and Henrietta, Texas. She is a graduate of North Texas University and was a teacher, and homemaker.
She married Harry J. Bissell in 1947, and they had two sons before moving to Longview, Texas in 1954. Olive was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Clyde Hall Sunday School Class, the Woman?s Forum, and the American Needlepoint Guild. In addition to her needle work Olive enjoyed participating in Bridge Club, and midweek bible studies at Buckner Westminster Place.
Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Bissell, and her youngest son, Larry L. Bissell.
Olive is survived by her son, Jay Bissell and wife Nancy; a granddaughter, Lisa DeGeeter and husband Rob; great-grandsons, Joshua and Noah; and cousins, Beth Leach, and Mike Leach.
