Olive "Tootsie" Maxine LaGrone's Obituary
Olive Maxine LaGrone better known as Tootsie went to be with her Savior and join her loving husband Harry on October 16, 2022.
Tootsie was the sixth child born to William Oliver Cox and Clara Esta Cogburn July 5, 1927, in Gibtown, Texas, Jack County.
Tootsie and Harry were married on November 2, 1967, in Kilgore Texas. Their life was in ministry. They were members of the Baptist church. Their mission was to plant churches, and mentor the members. Tootsie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Tootsie and Harry were the sweetest couple. They were inseparable! She was a spunky, fun loving woman of God. She never minced words in asking if you were saved! Her passion was painting, arts and crafts and caring for people in a genuine way. Tootsie has been in Memory Care the last five years. She had many sweet and devoted caretakers. Tootsie’s best virtues were her unshakable faith, gentle voice, sweet laughter, witty sense of humor, grateful heart, sacrificing spirit, and unending grace she showed to all of us. Her smile was brightest of all, and we all have experienced the “Tootsie” look! We will take to heart these precious memories and valued attributes. She has gone to meet her Savior in heaven and invites you to meet him there as well.
Tootsie is survived by her children, Kerry and Janice LaGrone of Tomball, TX. Karlynn Robertson of Lindale, TX. Kimberly Brown of College Station, TX. Sister-in-law, Neysa Blagg of North Carolina, 9 grandchildren, 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her niece, Susan Fair and her husband Deon Fair.
Tootsie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Clara Walker, granddaughter Wendy Matheson, son Krist LaGrone, six sisters, two brothers and her loving husband Harry LaGrone.
A graveside service will be held at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore TX. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM. A visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Thursday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
