Oleta P. Barham
Oleta Pearl Barham went to be with our Lord on July 25, 2009. She was born May 5, 1914 in Prescott, Arkansas, to Jarrett and Ethel White. After graduating from high school, she married her childhood sweetheart, Clinton A. Barham. Mrs. Barham, her husband, and son lived in Prescott and Orange, Texas before finally settling in Longview in 1950. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church until her death. Mrs. Barham dedicated her life to the service of others. She is well remembered for her love and care of children. Mrs. Barham worked in the Mobberly Baptist Church nursery for 50 years, generally caring for her favorite age child, the infants. Many Mobberly Baptist Church members fondly remember ?Barham? who took care of them, their children and their grandchildren. For many years Mrs. Barham also served as a sitter with elderly or infirm patients.
Mrs. Barham had a great sense of humor. Her family and friends have many fond memories of jokes and pranks in which she participated. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Some of her grandchildren?s fondest memories are of summer weeks spent at grandma and grandpa?s.
Mrs. Barham was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Clinton A. Barham, her 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Mary Barham of Longview, her grandson Paul Barham and wife Lisa of San Antonio, her granddaughter Andrea Jensen and husband Karl of Cedar Park, and her three great-grandchildren James Jensen, Joshua Barham, and Hannah Barham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Mobberly Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Barham and Dr. Gregg Zackary officitating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Liberty Cemetery in Prescott, AR under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
