OLEN RIDER
Services for Olen Rider , 82, of White Oak will be 2 PM Saturday, September 6th at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 501 HiWay 80 E in White Oak with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Rider died August 31st at a Longview hospital following a short illness.
He was born July 1, 1921 at Maydell, Texas to Ernest and Lula Traylor Rider. A resident of White Oak since 1957, Mr. Rider was a former meat cutter and was retired as a salesman for York Pump and Equipment of Longview. He served with the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Rider was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of White Oak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, May Rider in 1970; a brother, Edgar Rider; a sister, Virginia Parsons and his parents. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Ruth Rider of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Danny and Eska Rider of Ponder, Texas; his sons, Mike Rider of White Oak and Chris Rider of Longview; sisters, Bobbie Jean Clifton of Tyler and Norma Fay Peters of Urbana, Illinois; grandchildren: Michelle Rider of Keene, Texas, Kevin Rider and wife, Leah of Hurst, Texas, Cheri Pruitt and husband, Daniel of Liberty City, Kimberly Takahashi and husband, Ken of San Jose, California, Heather Tietz and husband Tony, of Chino Hills, California, Kristin Stoughton and husband, Pete of Charlottesville, Virginia, Collin Rider and
girlfriend, Kendra Friend of Easton, Texas, and Angela Rider of Fort Worth and two
great grandchildren, Caitlyn Pruitt and Garrett Rider.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral home, 1617 Judson Rd. Friday, Sept. 5th 6 to 8 PM.
