Funeral services for O.L. Todd will be held at Ten O?clock am Wednesday January 11, 2006 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel 1617 Judson Road with Reverends Tom Roberson and David Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
O.L. was born August 2, 1923 at Groesbeck, Texas to O.L. and Jimmie Allison Todd, Sr. After a courageous battle with cancer he was called home on January 8, 2006 to be with his Savior. He graduated from Longview High School, and volunteered to the Navy  October 13, 1941, and served his country until  September 30, 1945. He participated in convoy duty from New York to North Africa, served in the Asiatic  Pacific Theatre and participated in many Navy battles and campaigns.  He was wounded in action   when Japanese suicide planes   crashed into his ship. He was awarded the Purple Heart and seven Bronze service stars.
After being discharges, O.L. attended Kilgore Jr. College. He went to work with Standard Oil and Gas Company, and was transferred to Winnsboro, Louisiana, where he met his wife Elizabeth Myers. They were married December 13, 1947. After resigning the Oil Company in 1948, they moved back to Winnsboro, Louisiana from North Dakota   where he retired from the U. S. Post Office after thirty years.
After retirement they moved to Toledo Bend in Hemphill, Texas for 15 years. When his health began to fail, they moved to Longview in 1993. He is a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church and a member of Bill Baxter?s Sunday School Class which he enjoyed so much. He was a lifetime member of V. F. W. and Military Order of the Purple heart.
Preceding him in death are his parents, mother and father-in-laws,   Bert and Frankie Myers.
Survivors are his beloved wife, Elizabeth, his daughter who was his pride and joy, Linda Bulla and husband John of Nashville, TN.; sister, Frances Chase of Tucson, AZ.; brothers, Floyd Todd and  wife Sue of Longview; David Todd of Stonewall, LA.; four nephews and one niece.
Pallbearers will be Michael Chase, Dennis Todd, Dennis Todd, Jr. Charlie Evers, Chris Evers, and Charles Edward Wiggins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Royce Holeyfield, and Bill Baxters Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday January 10, 2006 from 6pm until 8pm.
