Norman Otis N.O. Fox, Sr.'s Obituary
Norman Otis N.O. Fox Sr., Golfer, Pilot, Humorist and Ole Eastman Hand, died February 5, 2005. A native of Elderville/Longview, Norman was born in Newsome, Texas on September 25, 1931 to Otis B. and Gladys Fox. He lived for many years in Jefferson and was a 40+ year employee of Eastman Kodak, having worked on its original construction crew. He retired as a metrologist in the Eastman computer analyzer lab. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Hallsville Masonic Lodge. As part of the original owners in their neighborhood, he and JoAn enjoyed four decades of hosting nieces, nephews and friends for conversations and computer-talk over coffee.
Having survived chemical plant explosions, a major car wreck, an industrial injury resulting in numerous back surgeries, a bull riding accident, 74 kidney stones, COPD, Asbestosis, heart by-pass and Chronic Leukemia, his body reluctantly surrendered to Lung and Liver Cancer.
Rader Funeral Home of Longview will host a viewing from 6-7 p.m., where the family will also host the visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be February 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
He will be buried at Memory Park with full Masonic rites following the service.
He was preceded in death by his ?special angel? of 49 years, JoAn Ingram Fox. His storytelling and dry wit will be missed by his daughter, Karen Fox-Frazier of Rockwall and husband Robert; son Rusty Norman Fox Jr. of Bedford; brother and sister-in-law Marlin and Reba Fox, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wesley and Darleen Dollahite; sister-in-law Deborah Adams; his favorite grandchildren Cameron and Cate Frazier; and his much loved nieces and nephews.
