Norman Lee Melton's Obituary
Norman Lee Melton, 68, passed away January 2, 2022 in Longview, TX. He was born January 16, 1953 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Eugene and Robbie Melton. Norm married Judy Baldwin on January 19, 1973 and had a loving relationship for almost 49 years.
Norm obtained his masters degree from Slidell University and served as a minister in the local church for over 35 years. He pastored several different congregations throughout his ministry career all over the state of Texas.
Norm enjoyed baseball, rooting for the Longhorns, collecting knives, and crunchy cheetos. Those that knew him best experienced his love through his sarcastic and fun personality. His passion was spending time with his family, especially grandkids and great-grandson. He also loved pastoring the local church where he impacted thousands of lives over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy and “best friend” Rambo, two sons Shane Melton, and wife, Anna of Diana, Chad Melton and wife Jodee of The Woodlands; two brothers Gary Melton and wife Kellye of Palestine, Phillip Melton and wife Carmen of Paris; grandkids, Kayla and husband, Kolt Beckham of Shreveport; Brayden Melton of Shreveport; Lillee, Lincoln and Lyndee Melton of The Woodlands; Riley Blalock of Longview and Steven Randall of Longview. One great-grandson Kowen Beckham of Shreveport. He is also survived by many other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation at 9:00am followed by the Celebration of Life at 10:00am which will be held at Rader Funeral Home, 1616 Judson Rd., Longview, TX. Chad Melton will officiate with the internment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth, TX at 4:00pm.
