Norman Albert Guedry's Obituary
Norman Albert Guedry, 72, of Longview, passed away on May 14, 2020 at his home. He was born on June 3, 1947, in Lake Charles Louisiana to Albert and June Guedry. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Norm grew up in Lake Charles, LA and graduated from Lake Charles High School. He went to college and obtained his R.N license. He then joined the Army and went to Vietnam from May 16, 1970 to May 15, 1971. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Bronze Star. He was discharged June 25, 1972. After discharge he went back to school and studied to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. As a C.R.N.A. he moved to Crowley, LA and worked at the hospital there as the Supervisor of the C.R.N.A's for almost 25 years. In 2000 Norm moved to Longview, TX and worked at Longview Regional Medical Center until his retirement March, 2010. After retirement he pursued his hobby of motorcycle riding. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Norm is survived by his wife Jeanne, sisters: Linda Mills and her partner Randy Richard from Lake Charles LA, Carol Guedry from New Braunfels, TX, and Anita Lloyd and her husband Doug from Marble Falls, TX. Brother: Alan Guedry and wife Alicia from Longview, TX. Daughters: Kim LaVern and her husband David from Houston, TX, Kelly Dees and her husband Ross from Lafayette, LA. Granddaughters: Abby, Hannah and Emma Dees and Caroline, Elise and Camille LaVern. Niece: Chanda Guedry from New Braunfels, TX. Nephews: Neal and Kyle Lloyd from Marble Falls, TX and Aaron Guedry from Longview, TX. Nieces: Nancy Federico and husband Benny from Indianapolis, Indiana; Julie Clark and husband Paul from Axle, Tx; nephew: David Mills and wife Barbara from Pflugerville, Tx.
Norm never met a stranger. If you met him you liked him and if you got to know him you loved him.
He was a good, kind and generous man. He will be missed by us all.
