Norman Gene McBride's Obituary
Norman Gene McGride
With great sadness, the family of Norman Gene McBride, of Longview Texas announces the loss of their husband, father and friend. Norman was born March 2, 1966 in Dallas, Texas and passed away at home on October 25, 2011. Norman was the previous owner of M&M Contracting and current owner of Norm's Transport.
Norman was a hard-working man who was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, and with a joke or two to entertain. Affectionately known by all as the "handy-man" in the family, he was able to fix any problem presented to him even if he had to invent the tool to do it. His quirky sense of humor, sweet smile and infectious laugh made family events hilarious. Norman loved to fish, was passionate about history, especially the Civil War, and enjoyed using his metal detectors in the search for artifacts. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, David Curtis and Laura Mae McBride and his brother, David "Bo" McBride. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Kristan Montgomery McBride, children, Shanda Wilson; Kirsten, Nathan and Andrew McBride; brothers, Randy and Chuck McBride; sisters, Sherri Shelby and Donna Wallace; grandchildren; Blake Dryden, Torrie Wilson, Emily Wilson and Collyn Wilson.
A family viewing was held at Rader Funeral Home October 26, 2011. Father Gavin Vaverek celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial on October 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Mark Dunne leading the recitation of the Rosary.
Norman continually searched for knowledge wherever it could be found. His quest to seek the truth is now fulfilled in heaven. May you be at peace, Dad. We miss you .
