Normalee Boddie's Obituary
Mrs. Boddie was called home to our Lord on November 21, 2020. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated Longview High School and held a degree in accounting which she used in her husband’s business, insurance industry and as Church secretary for Winterfield Methodist Church for many years.
Upon her retirement she continued her service to the church up until recently via her sewing and quilting with the Winterfield Church Quilters by designing, making, donating these quilts to help further the mission of the church and to assist with local Women’s and Children’s charities. She hoped that the quilts that they made would help to warm that person’s soul and help comfort them in their time of hardship.
She was very active in the church belonging to the Sterling Club and many committees throughout the years for Winterfield Church. She strongly believed in helping others thru her donations to the Veteran’s fund, donating blood and donating her time and efforts to help others. She always had a smile on her face and her friendship was cherished by all that knew her.
We would like to Thank all of her doctors and caregivers that gave her care and comfort throughout the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lane C Boodie, Sr; father and mother Philip and Beulah Taylor; sister Naomi Ferguson; brother Clarence Taylor and grandson Darin Lee Boddie.
She is survived by her son Dale Alan Boddie, his daughter April Kay Garcia and grandchildren Salvadore Garcia, Sierra Garcia and Savanah Garcia; son Lane Charles Boddie, Jr. and his wife Sandy Boddie, grandchildren Seth and Noah Boddie; sister Irma Thompson, her son Bill Harrison and Cathy Hawbaker; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Memory Park in Longview with Jeane DiBella, C.L.S. officiating.
