While living in Virginia she worked as a bookkeeper in the family business of Wayland-Knight and also served as the head of personnel for Prince William County for 11 years. She was instrumental in establishing the Manassas Church of Christ and was very active with that congregation. Norma had the gift of hospitality and she offered her home, her services, and her love to many over the years.
In 1978 she moved with her family to Longview, TX where she was a member of the Alpine Church of Christ. She taught youth bible classes for several years and used her home style cooking to show her love to many friends. Later, she briefly lived in Plano, Texas, but returned to Longview to enjoy her grandchildren where she lived until her death.
Norma loved her family, as well as her wonderful church family. She loved the holiday seasons, cooking for friends and family and cheering for her favorite sports teams.
