Nora Ann Rodriguez's Obituary
Nora Ann Rodriguez Fernandez, 47, resident of Robstown, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017, in Henderson, surrounded by her loving family.
Nora was born on July 17, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of
Valentin A. Rodriguez and Enedina (Cerda Sanchez) Rodriguez.
She is a 1990 graduate from William B. Travis High School in Austin. A former resident of Austin, Texas, where she raised a family with former husband, Fernando Fernandez, Sr.
Later, Nora moved back to Robstown, where she has resided for the
better part of 12 years.
Nora worked most of her life at various professions. As a teen, she worked at MGs Pizza in Robstown and H.E.B in Austin; as an adult worked a medical assistant in the correctional facility, and most recently served it up as a “cafeteria lady "at Seale Jr. High School, Robstown, Texas.
In addition to her loving husband, Joe Garza, survivors include her son Fernando Fernandez, Jr., daughter-in-law Taneisha Barnes, grandson Izaiah and granddaughter A’iyanna of Robstown. Sons Mercie Fernandez of Robstown, Raul and Angel Fernandez of Pflugerville, her daughter and grandson Natalia Fernandez and Levi Ayden of Robstown. She also leaves her sisters and in-laws, Juanita Rodriguez and her fiancé Thomas Vela, Jr. of Robstown; Elizabeth and Kenneth Morein of Wyoming; Teresa Rodriguez-Tatro and Donna of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Brothers and in-laws Valentin II and Maria Rodriguez of Buda, Texas; Rene and Donna Rodriguez of Abbeville, Louisiana; Rudy and Tina Rodriguez. Her cousin, confidante and BFF, Carol Ann (Sanchez) Hernandez of Pflugerville, Texas and lifelong best friend Marcy (Ysassi) Villarreal of Robstown, Texas. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A Vigil was held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in the chapel of Rader
Funeral Home of Henderson, Texas. A Catholic Mass with Father Jay Lucas officiating was held in St. Jude Catholic Church on Monday,
January 30, 2017.
Donations may be made to Angel Care Hospice - Henderson and MD Anderson Cancer Center – Houston.
