Noel Jones' Obituary
Born on February 26, 1933 in Rusk County as the only child to Juian C. and Ruby Pool Jones, Noel was a devout Christian who spent his entire life dedicated to the Lord since his early age as a child. Noel was always at church when the doors were open until his health was unable to allow him; however, he was always there in spirit and heart and spent every single day reading, studying the bible during his stay at the nursing home until his death. Noel served in the military for two years, he then was discharged and then went to work for he worked for Trailmobile in Longview, TX and retired. Then he went to Rusk County Electric where he retired and then stayed retired. Noel's hobbies were collecting coins, guns, and good high-performance Ford engines and watching western movies, which he would talk about for hours on any of those subjects.
Noel is preceded in death by his parents Julian C. and Ruby Pool Jones and son, Steven Jones, and grandson, Justin Adams.
Noel is survived by his sons, Wayne Jones and wife Becky, Gary Paul Jones and wife Tresa, and Daughter, Barbara Mitchell and husband R.D. Mitchell. Noel was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The family would like to express a thank you to Henderson Health and Rehab and its staff and a special thank you to Ms. Peggy Davis and also a great appreciation to all the people that visited Noel during his stay. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for Noel's wishes to be carried out and make all donations to Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 3558 County Road 368 E, Henderson, TX 75654.
Graveside services for Noel will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 10 am at Welch Cemetery in Henderson, TX.
