Nita Killian's Obituary
A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Nita Killian, 78, of Longview, will be held at Alpine Church of Christ at 2pm on November 21, 2010 in Longview, Texas. Nita passed away after a sudden and brief illness on November 7, 2010 to be united with her Lord and savior. Nita chose to donate her earthly body to LSU Medical School to further educate future medical professionals in Cancer research.
Nita Killian was born to Kathryn and Milton McCulley of Vernon, Texas on October 6, 1932. Mrs. Killian was a graduate of Vernon High School and attended Oklahoma Christian College in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1954 while attending Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma, Nita met Jimmy Killian of Altus, Oklahoma. They were married on December 22, 1955 and enjoyed 55 years together. Nita worked at a finance company in Norman, Oklahoma to help Jim through his senior year at the University of Oklahoma.
Nita is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jimmy Killian of Longview. Nita and Jim were blessed with three beautiful children. Daughter, Karen Maines and husband Randy, and granddaughter Alicia Taylor of Longview. Daughter, Kaye Perry and husband Kyle of Longview; granddaughter Kristen Hudson and husband Robbie, and great-granddaughter Kaelyn of Little Elm, Texas; granddaughter Karlene Perry of Addison, Texas; and grandsons Keeton and Kylen Perry of College Station, Texas. Son, Karl Killian and wife Marlene, and granddaughters Kathryn and Madalyn of The Woodlands, Texas. Nita also is survived by one cousin, Aubrey Wilson and wife Nona of North Richland Hills, Texas, and numerous loving family members, nieces and nephews, and a host of great friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two Aunts and Uncles all from Vernon, Texas.
In her own words, Nita had a beautiful life with her family and with her relationship with her Lord, her church family and many wonderful friends. She was very dedicated to the Alpine Church of Christ, her voluntary works with the Caring and Sharing Center and the Inns Keepers Ministries.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nita?s honor to the Alpine Church of Christ for the ministry she so loved; The Caring and Sharing Center or to Beacon Hospice Margaret?s House.
Nita will be greatly missed by all who loved her and worked with her, her family and many wonderful friends. We loved her so much.
