Nina Lois Green's Obituary
Graveside services for Nina Lois Green, 90, of Henderson, will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Ricks officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Tuesday at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Green died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her residence in Henderson.
She was born February 20, 1919, in Rusk County to Thomas G. Rogers and Annie Sue Hale Rogers. She was married to Garth T. Green on August 27, 1939, in Henderson. For over 30 years, Mr. and Mrs. Green owned Reed's Jewelry Store retiring in 1985. Mrs Green and her husband were members of the First United Methodist Church in Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Blanton Rogers, Joe Rogers, and Randy Rogers and sisters Nell Spannare and Christine Daniels.
Survivors include a son, Tom Green and wife Mary Ann of Boerne, TX.; daughters , Judy Sherry of Lenexa, KS., and Jo Ann Bledsoe and husband Tom of Jasper, TX.; grandchildren, Robert Green, Brad Green, Jennifer Sherry, Joanne Sherry, Jon Sherry, Thomas Bledsoe and Brent Bledsoe; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Clifford Short of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Wayne Rogers and wife Jean of Metairie, LA., brother-in-law, Victor Daniels of Haynesville, LA.; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Rogers of Bullard, TX. and Doris Rogers of Tyler, TX., numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the ladies who for many years have lovingly cared for Mrs. Green: Michele Spaulding, Shirley Wills, Barbara Brown, Wanda Hicks, and Mary Muse.Also thanks to Susan Cox, RN, Myrna Davilla and the staff of Hospice of East Texas for all their care and support.
