Nina Hart's Obituary
Nina Lee Hart, née Rainwater, was born on February 25, 1932, in Council Hill, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Longview, Texas, on her 94th birthday.
Nina grew up in Council Hill, Oklahoma, and after completing business school training in Tulsa, Oklahoma, moved to Borger, Texas. There she met and married the love of her life, Carl “Jack” Hart, in 1953. In 1964, they relocated to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, with their first two children, Ninette and Kyle. Aside from a year-long work assignment in Australia—where their third child, Kevin, was born—Nina made her home in Bartlesville for many years. In 2025, she moved to Longview, Texas.
Nina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Hart, in 1998, and by her brother, Robert Rainwater. With her characteristic wit, she would also say she was preceded in death by “almost all my friends.”
She dedicated her life to her family and treasured her many friendships. Nina loved hosting gatherings, traveling, reading, and playing bridge. When recently asked if she was good at bridge, she replied with a sparkle in her eye, “I’m damn good at bridge.”
She is survived by her brother, Jim Rainwater and his wife, Dottie, of Ft. Walton, Florida; her daughter, Ninette Hart and her husband, Don Brown, of Olympia, Washington; her son, Kyle Hart and his wife, Lori, of Longview, Texas; and her son, Kevin Hart and his wife, Nicola, of Bath, United Kingdom. She is also survived by her grandsons, Bradley Hart and his wife, Ellen, of Dallas, Texas; Cooper Hart and his wife, Claire, of Georgetown, Texas; and by her great-grandchildren, Jack, Weston, and Lottie Hart of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her dear friend and companion Larry Fodor.
Nina will be remembered for her devotion to family, her gracious hospitality, her sharp mind at the card table, and her enduring sense of humor. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong family ties that will continue for generations.
Honoring her wishes, no services will be held. Her ashes will be placed beside her husband’s grave at Memorial Park in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in a private family gathering.
