Nieves C. Molina's Obituary
Nieves C. Molina was the second of five daughters of Sabina and Nieves Mendiola. She was born in Bullard, Texas in 1922, and her family moved to Longview when she was a child. Upon her graduation from Longview High School, she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked at the Pentagon during WWII. While in D.C., she met and married J.S. Molina. After the war they came to Longview with their toddler son, Jesse, Jr. where they eventually opened Molina Sign Co. Nieves was a faithful member of St. Anthony’s Catholic parish from childhood until illness prevented her from attending. However, her heart remained with her faith and her church. She passed her strong faith on to her son by her example of living a Christian life each day. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years and all of her sisters.
She is survived by her son, Jesse Molina and wife Carol; granddaughters Michele Stalnaker and husband Scott, Nicole Thomas and husband Shawn; and three great-grandchildren, Zachry Stalnaker, Morgan Thomas and Lauren Thomas. She is also survived by Carol’s children, Steve Pliler and wife Cyndy and Cyndi Kohfield and husband Glenn, and their son Tanner Kohfield. Also surviving are her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Longview at 11a.m., Tuesday July 18. Preceding the service, there will be a visitation at 10 a.m. and Rosary at 10:30. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery.
