Neva Nell Reese's Obituary
Nell Reese
Neva Nell Reese, "Nommie", was born on December 31, 1920, to Earl and Amy Meadows in Longview, Texas. She met and married the love of her life, Billy Bob Reese, on May 29, 1948.
Nell was a longtime resident of the Gum Springs community and a devoted member of Gum Springs Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother known for meeting the needs of the community through her homemade chicken pie and caramel pie. All who knew her loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Amy Meadows, by her daughter, Kathryn Bourland, and her brothers, Carlton Meadows, and Earl June Meadows.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Bob Reese; her son, Randall Reese and wife, Debbie, of Longview; and her son, Bob Reese, of Hallsville. Nommie leaves behind four granddaughters whom she treasured, Devin Mikhail and husband, Karim, of Atlanta, GA.; Rachael McClurg and husband, Kevin, of Frisco, TX; Brooke Hailey of Longview; and Lauren Jewett and husband, Scott, of Raleigh, NC. Her precious great granddaughters, Addison Hailey and Paisley Sams, brought much joy to her life.
All will miss her sweet smile, warm hugs, and "I love you's", but know that she is resting in the arms of her heavenly Father, suffering no more. God will say to her, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." She knew that Jesus was indeed, the way, the truth, and the light.
Special thanks to Frankie Bryan, longtime friend and employee; and caregivers: Brenda Dupler and Tanya Wallace, employed by Senior Care Registry, Longview, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at Gum Springs Christian Church on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 10:00 am, under the direction of Radar Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 27, at Radar Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Gum Springs Christian Church, 2250 Gum Springs Rd., Longview, TX 75602.
