Nettie Mable Clafferty's Obituary
Nettie Mable Smith Clafferty, 95, of Longview, died at a Waco nursing home, Saturday, April 17, 2004. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 20, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony?s Catholic Church in Longview. There will be a rosary at 6:30 PM Monday at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview.
Mrs. Clafferty was born May 4, 1908, in Bivens, Texas, to Oscar Melvin Smith and Mary Etta Clark Smith. She married William Henry Clafferty of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, on January28, 1928, in Texarkana, Texas. They moved to Longview in 1930 and made it their home. They were long time members of St. Anthony?s of St. Anthony?s Catholic Church. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she loved her family, and she loved her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, two daughters, Barbara Mercedes Clafferty and Mable Louise Clafferty Hayes, and two granddaughters.
Survivors include daughter, Billie Delores Clafferty Andrews of Santa Fe, Texas; son, William Henry Clafferty, Jr., and his wife, Jo Ann of Brownwood, and Michael Dan Clafferty and his wife, JoAnn of Waco; fourteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren , and a sister, Pearl Louise Smith Pierce of Longview.
