Nettie Harris Akin's Obituary
Services for Nettie H. Akin, 94, of Longview will be 2 PM Friday, January 20, 2006 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, with Reverend Mark Horner officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. Ms. Akin passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Clairmont Nursing Home.
Nettie was born on July 26, 1911 in Centenial, Texas to Earl and Emma Harris and was retired from LeTourneau, Inc. Mrs. Akin was a long time member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Longview. She enjoyed family and friends, always laughing and smiling, as well as being an avid bridge player and music lover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Akin, who passed away in 1969, and 7 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 1 sister, Buena Lee Horvers of Scottsdale, AZ.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 1-2 PM, Friday before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Life Care Hospice, 1809 Gilmer Rd., Longview, Texas 75604.
